UNDERWATER 1990 - 1999
Like fragments of ancient pottery or the relics of sunken wooden ships discovered on a sandy bed at the bottom of the sea, these watery paintings bathed in a liquid light stir up similar responses of awe and amazement.
“The largeness of these works springs from the grandeur of the sea itself and the role it plays in our conciousness, the ancient otherworld it keeps us in touch with: of an evolutionary pre-life; of epic adventuring and discovery; of a dimension in which the body dances free of gravity and the spirit disports itself in eternal play.”
